More about Suzanne Guttman

Suzanne Guttman designs and creates blown glass art vessels, sinks and lighted hanging glass art pieces. Her inspiration comes from the beauty of simple, classic forms, color combinations and the spontaneous fluidity found in nature.

Born in Sacramento, California, Suzanne continues a family tradition of artists, her mother an accomplished fine artist, her grandfather a photographer and her aunt and uncle in the performing arts. She graduated from California State University, Chico in 1981 double majoring in Visual Communications and Marketing. After graduating, she moved to Seattle where she still resides. Working for 20 years in the communications, marketing and design industry, Suzanne’s career took many paths, 10 of those years were spent owning her own graphic design firm.

In 1992, Suzanne turned to glass for creative self-expression and has since launched her passion into a new life. She studied at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle, working independently, served on the Board of Directors, taking classes, and teaching at the school. Suzanne currently produces her line of vessels that strive for the balance between grace and strength and are simplistic; yet capture motion and depth through color and form. Her vessels are in galleries nation wide and are in residences internationally. She also produces sinks and chandeliers that are found in residences nationwide.
