Q – How do I buy through Glass Artists Gallery?

A – Call us!  We will help you match the appropriate artist and work to your project and that is what makes us unique.  We are not an “internet company”.   The process starts with a conversation between you and one of our customer service representatives so that we can better understand your design criteria, budget, timeframe and vision for your particular project.  We will then make recommendations on artist(s) and work for you to consider.  Oftentimes we will send samples for commissioned work, tiles and architectural glass.  Once a proposal has been agreed to, and a deposit has been made, we will get the artist started on the work.  The artist will ship the piece(s) direct to you – you can find more information about shipping here: Glass Art Shipping Information Shipping Information

Glass Artists Gallery is here to help you through completion of your project.  We have helped hundreds of design professionals and art collectors match the right work of art to their specific job.  Unlike a standard gallery, we specialize in functional and architectural glass art and understand the challenges associated with incorporating handmade studio art into the home and commercial project.  Our customer service representatives have the design experience and technical glass knowledge necessary to ensure that your project is a success.

Q – Do you have a showroom?

A – We offer our artists work through our resource catalog and website.  We do not have a showroom because we work with customers all over the country and 80% of the work purchased is commissioned to your specifications.  This is why the work of art you will receive is unlike anything else you will find – it is made for you.  We have found that the process of finding the right work of art for a project can be handled very easily through our personal customer service via phone and email.

Q – What is the difference between Glass Artists Gallery and an architectural glass studio?

A – Architectural glass studios traditionally work with “flat glass” and slumping techniques.   Glass Artists Gallery works with a few larger architectural glass studios, and also over 60 artists working in different styles including: blown glass, fused & slumped glass, etched, mosaic, stained glass, sand carved and more.  The result is that we cover a wide range of functional, aesthetic & architectural designs including lighting, sinks, wall art, vessels, furniture, windows, doors, sculpture – just about anything you might dream up that will integrate glass into your residential or commercial project.  With the variety of techniques and styles available, you will spend less time “shopping” and more time creating.

Q – I have been able to buy from artists direct before, why should I use Glass Artists Gallery?

A – Glass Artists Gallery is your advocate and guide through a very complicated field.  We have years of experience with glass and glass artists.  We have juried hundreds of artists work and continue to do so in order to find the best in the field.  If you think you will get a better price by “going direct”, this is misguided thinking.  Yes, you can probably buy direct from some artists, however this doesn’t mean you will get a “wholesale price”…

Glass Artists Gallery is different than a “brick & mortar” gallery.  We provide a resource of over 65 glass artists specializing in functional & architectural glass.  We aren’t aware of another company that can make that claim.  Just like artists, every project is different and to sort through the options in different types of glass or the various artists available can be an enormous task.  We will help you find the right work of art for your project, saving you a great deal of time - but that isn’t all.  We will make sure that the work is delivered on time and to the specifications you requested.  When you have questions about lighting, installation, glass, color options, and the other myriad questions that inevitably come up when incorporating glass art into a residential or commercial project, we are there to help you.  In the end, our clients tell us that we save them an enormous amount of time and money.

Q – I didn’t see exactly what I wanted in the online galleries…  Is there anything else?

A – Even though we have close to 1000 images on our website of our artist’s work, there are thousands more that didn’t make it due to image quality.  …and thousands more photos that simply weren’t taken…  It is virtually impossible to represent everything our artists can do.  At least half the work we do is commissioned and not on our website.  Give us a call even if you don’t see exactly what you want.  Chances are we have an artist that can create the perfect work of art for your project and stay within your budget requirements.

Q – Are glass sinks really practical?

A – To learn more about sinks - the different types available, as well as durability and care - please visit Glass Sinks.

Q – Is your lighting UL approved?

A – Actually this is a misnomer.  Several of our artists have their lighting UL listed (there is no such thing as “UL approval”) and some of the lighting you will see in our galleries is “test exempt”.  Some of the hanging art pieces are lit from above so they do not need to be performance tested.  There is a great article called “Understanding UL”.  We can provide this article to you upon request.

Q – What if I’m not happy with the work?

A – We stand behind every artist we represent.   If you are not happy, we will do everything in our power to resolve your issue.  We have hundreds of positive testimonials – many of which you will find throughout our site – because we care about our customers and strive for perfection.  We have yet to have a problem that has come up with one of our customers that we could not work out to everyone’s satisfaction.
